Our Practice Nursing team consists of Vicky, Anna and Monique. Between them they can help with all sorts of health issues including family planning, cervical smears, travel advice, immunisations, wound care and minor illnesses.

In addition, our practice nurses can also care for long-term health conditions such as asthma, COPD, hypertension and less complex diabetes.

It is helpful, when making an appointment with a nurse, that you provide a reason for the appointment so that you are given an appropriate length of time.

The practice management team is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice management team support the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also help to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions, dealing with prescription enquiries and dealing with patient records. Our staff are multi-talented, also carrying out various admin tasks and often lending a hand in dispensary as well.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Our extremely experienced and helpful local Health Visitor is Mrs Claire Robinson.

Unfortunately, our regular Health Visitor drop-in clinics at the surgery have had to stop. The Health Visitors run weekly drop-in appointments elsewhere. There is a Chippenham-based drop-in clinic held at the Spring Rise Children's Centre, Frogwell, every Thursday between 09:30-11:30.
