How do you access Online Services?
Online Services are available to all patients aged 13+. Registration is required in order to verify your identity and be able to have access to your medical record and details.
There are different options available below for registering for Online Services:
- NHS App - the easiest option to register for online services is to download the NHS App for smartphones (simply search for 'NHS App' in your app store and follow the steps to create and 'NHS Login'). You can verify your own identity in the NHS App in order to use Online Services and without the need to visit the practice.

- NHS App Online - you can visit the 'NHS App Online' website to register for an account if you do not have a smartphone or tablet - as with option 1, most patients will be able to register without the need to contact or visit the practice.
- At Reception - if you are unable to verify your own identity in the NHS App, you may be asked to obtain some registration details from the practice (Linkage Key, ODS Code and Account ID) - these will help you to link your app to your medical record at the practice.
Our staff can provide these unique details to you in person at the practice by confirming your identity (please bring along photographic ID i.e. driving licence or passport).
What is the NHS App and NHS App Online?
If you’re a patient at our practice you can use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet. This app is downloadable from your usual app store.
The NHS App has also been made available via a website for patients who would like to access it via a desktop or laptop computer. Please click here to access.
You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view parts of your GP medical record and more.
The NHS App is also the digital route for obtaining your NHS 'COVID Pass', which you may be asked to provide when travelling abroad or attending events at venues in England.
If you already use the Patient Access online service you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well, or instead of Patient Access. If you don't currently have Online Services, you can download the NHS App and create a NHS login which will enable you to set up Online Services without visiting the practice.

Proxy Access to Online Services
Proxy access allows parents, family members and carers to access health services on behalf of other people. For example, children, dependants you care for, and relatives.
The proxy will need to have their own online services account (i.e. via the NHS App) and the patient's record will then be linked to the proxy's account.
Proxy access is available for children under 11 years old. From the age of 11, patients are required to give their explicit consent for their record and details to be shared with a proxy.
Online Services accounts are available to patients from the age of 13 years. From 13 years, young people are able to provide their own consent and will be able to register for online services. They could alternatively provide consent for someone else to manage their account, i.e. a parent via proxy access.
A patient of any age, giving consent, may decide to grant access to parts of their online record to a nominated proxy person. This could be as simple as a proxy ordering repeat medications on behalf of the patient.
Proxy access is controlled by the practice and you can submit a request to register for proxy access by completing the following form (the application form needs to be handed back to the practice along with identification of both the patient and the nominated proxy).
